9 and Counting
There are only nine days left to get into the crowd with us at The Battery Park in Downtown Dartmouth; a collaboration between the people behind AceBurgerCo, The Brooklyn Warehouse, and North Brewing Company, all located in North End Halifax.
We've been running this crowd fund project for some 47 days and it is coming to a close.
Like any crowdsourcing campaign, it has had its peaks and its lulls, but at this stage we need to hit some serious high notes to reach our goal.
It's not unheard of. Many successful funding projects of this nature hit a tipping point very near the end of their run and then go over the top. Check it out here; www.entrepreneur.com and here; www.kickstarter.com
Some of these, like last year's crowdsourcing campaign known as The Ice Bucket Challenge, are insanely successful and shed massive amounts of light and resources on those who drove the campaign to success.
Wouldn't it be cool if Dartmouth was one of those places where such an insanely successful crowdfunding campaign originated! Wouldn't it be cool if Halifax was a part of that drive and success.
The success of any crowdsourcing project doesn't come from those who organize it or run it in the background, like I'm doing now. It comes from those who's attention is captured, and interest peaked; who's pocket book is opened and who's own social networks are accessed. It's about engaging in an idea that makes sense to the contributor, the supporter... you.
So we have nine days to go and a long way to get to 50 Grand. Let's go for it!
