Beer Nerds & Techies
So, there are only two days left to go! That’s 36 hours from now, and counting.
Yesterday was a banner day for this crowdfund. It topped all other single day contributions with a total of $2,862.50. That put the overall total at $24,288.00 by the end of the day. And that was awesome to see!
That is the power of crowdfunding showing itself in only a few hours during one single day. I little bit more of that action today and tomorrow will make us even more happy than we are right now… because as far as we’re concerned, this campaign has already been a resounding success!
In all the time we’ve been running this, North Brewing has only been mentioned a few times… not because we dropped the ball… but because Peter, Josh, and their crew have been ultra busy getting everything lined up at North Street and in Dartmouth. So much so that last night was the first chance Peter had in actually writing his own blog post for this site.
So, here it is:
At North Brewing we have had a busy summer and the last 3 weeks were pure chaos! It started with us renting a 26 foot truck (which is the largest truck you can legally drive with a regular license FYI) and driving over to PEI. We arrived and loaded up our new Brew House, custom made and built right in Charlottetown. We turned around and headed back to Agricola St. and that’s when the real fun began! Our friends at Cyclesmith kindly lent us the use of their scissor lift to get our tanks off the truck and then we rolled them across the street and into our brewery. Having removed our original brew house we were under the gun to get the new one up and running before we completely ran out of beer. Flash forward 3 weeks to yesterday when we brewed our first batch on the new system! and yes we still had a few drops of beer left.
With the major work in Halifax completed we are now getting set to install our custom built draught system at Battery Park. There are many reasons that we are excited about this draught system and why you should be too: The system from the couplers to the faucets is 304 stainless, no other metal will be used in the system; we are replacing one of the most difficult to clean parts of a draught system (The FOBs) with a more labour intensive system that will allow us to rinse the lines between each and every keg served (more work for us, better beer for you); we have a custom CO2 and N gas blender to maintain perfect carbonation and eliminate the need for any soft vinyl tubing outside of the walk in fridge; and we will be cleaning our lines weekly with a recirculating pump (a pump is 80 times more effective at cleaning lines than static cleaning). Some of these details might not mean much to those outside of the industry but the bottom line is that the system at Battery Park will always pour a perfect pint through immaculately clean line; that’s good for the beer and good for our customers. When you come to Battery Park you will know that every glass of draught beer you buy will tastes as the brewer intended. If that sounds like a winner to you then check out the crowd fund tiers and grab a sweet deal before Battery Park opens and the deals are gone.
36 hours to go! Let's see what we can spark right now!
Every bit helps; and every supporter gets their just reward!
